Conclusion and Brousseau's final professional opinion.

Hello everyone! Sadly, it's now the end of the year so this marks my final blog post. Or is it? Anyways, I thought if its gonna be the last post of the school year I might as well make it good. You know? Make it full of interesting and funny remarks from yours truly, Mathieu Sylvain George Charbonneau Gauthier Brouillard Brousseau. Now, I have talked about several different forms of cheating in the last couple of months. Some of those include: sports, video games, in school and even cheating death! So those all got me thinking, in general, is cheating a good idea? Like, are the pros and cons balanced out? Are the pros bigger than the cons? Are the cons bigger than the pros? Well, today I am gonna delve deeper than anyone ever has on this subject because this is my grand finale to end it all, kinda.
This is me delving deeper.

First off I need to discuss something because it's been bothering me. I believe we have a cheater in our class. I've been spending alot of time researching this person and looking at their behavior and it's clear to me that they're definitely a cheater. Everything this person does is very suspicious and honestly, I'm quite surprised no one else has caught on to this. The person who I am referring to is our teacher, M.Noecker. After plenty of time in class studying his mannerisms and his behavior, it's quite clear that he is in fact not an actual teacher and that he cheated his way into the education system. Just look at examples he gives in class. Such as his work, his tests and even his way of helping us. Best example of this is when he explained how to do our research essays. What kind of qualified teacher would use the Advent of Robotics as a topic for an essay? Clearly, he has a fake teacher's degree.

Just look at his face. He knows what he did.

All joking aside, let's get onto the juicy stuff. My opinion. About the pros and cons and stuff. Because that's pretty important. After these few months, there's just too many cons about cheating that leads me to believe that it's useless. Surely you can cheat on a math test to get a good grade but, would you have actually learned how to do that equation that will definitely be used later in your life? Of course not because you simply looked at the answer instead of learning it. This applies to almost any skill. Whether it be, sports, video games or teaching. If you cheat your way you're not learning anything. You're not getting better at it either. You're better off putting in the long hours and hard work in order to achieve your dreams instead of taking the easy way out.

Another thing to remark is that, how would you feel if you found about someone who you respect for their accomplishments simply cheated their way through it? You would feel quite betrayed huh? Like, you wouldn't believe a word they say about any of their accomplishments after that. That really sucks. Personally I would rather people believe all my accomplishments and all the hard work that came with accomplishing them.

Finally, people who inject synthol. This annoys the hell out of me even if I don't personally use the gym. People who inject synthol look really freaking ripped and for good reason. The synthol simply makes them look big when in reality, they're weaker than a wet spaghetti noodle. Take this for example.

This video of a man that was injected with synthol versus a man almost half his weight with no injections. Even though the man with synthol looks ten times stronger than the man with no injections, the skinny kid still beats him. Why? Because he has actual muscle. This is a physical example of the effects of cheating. You lie about all your hard work, and then you face someone who actually did the work. And you know what? You lose.

Hope you guys enjoyed my blog post, as I had a lot of fun making them. And as always, um wait. I don't have an outro. Oh well.

How easy is it to cheat life?

This of course is a very interesting question. But this one question, raises alot of questions with varying answers. Personally, I believe that cheating life is very possible but it all depends on luck. For instance, the chances of surviving a lightning strike are 89-90%. But, the chances of getting hit by lightning in the first place are 1 in 960,000. So pretty much, if you're scared of getting struck by lightning, grow up you child.

Now I wanna talk about something that would completely change the way i'd live. If my heart suddenly stopped and I was dead for at least one minute and they were able to revive me, I would just consider the fact that I am reanimated and that I'm gonna die twice. Like, how crazy would that be? Technically, any who is revived is a zombie by definition. That definition being a dead body coming back to life. Modern medicine continues to amaze me.

Here is some spooky lightning hitting the ground.

Also, if I had a very nice tropical vacation in the islands of Hawaii or Dysfonctionnile or whatever, I would love to swim in the ocean. The tropical waters are so beautiful and nice to swim in but there's one downside too. The chance of drowning. Who knew that a couple pumps on one's chest could allow them to push water out of their bodies so that they could inhale oxygen and release carbon monoxide. Cheating life is so cool.

Pfft, water is delicious!

Another cool thing I wanna discuss is the tale of Phineas Gage. This guy was in charge of building railroads as an American Railroad Construction Foreman. But one day, this metal rod went completely through his skull, piercing his frontal lobe. Surprisingly, he survived the accident and the fact that a metal rod went completely through his skull and he lived, is amazing. Only downside though, is that the frontal lobe controls one's personality so this guy was completely different. I actually wish this would happen to me because my personality is non-existent, so maybe this new personality would get me some friends.

Well, being blind sucks. But having friends is better.

In the end, cheating life is completely possible but maybe it's a little hard to pull off. Other than that, it's super cool and in some cases, cheating life gets you more friends hopefully. Or maybe you become a zombie. Who knows?

Cheating In School: Continued

As you may have noticed, last week's post has been given an updated title. The reason for this is that I felt like I didn't express enough of my personal feelings on the subject given the size of the post. So for this week, I will simply be adding on to the post, with enough content for a whole new post.

For those who are in my history class, you may not understand how stressful it was for me to find out at the last minute that there was a test today. I studied as long as I could at lunch and it still wasn't enough for me to understand the chapters the class learnt while I was gone at New York for 5 days. During the test, I honestly felt the urge to cheat. I hate to admit it but I had to stop myself from looking at other's pages during this stressful test. When I went to the bathroom, I wanted to go to my locker and look at more notes to try and make my way through the test. But you know what? I thought to myself that I should be honest to my teacher about how much information I retained from his teaching instead of him thinking that I'm a perfect student. I know it sounds kinda dumb but it's important.

Don't mind me, just looking around...

That's the thing with classes like history. Cheating happens alot more in those classes than others because the things that you learn in that class require full memory. It's not like science or math where you remember a certain formula and you can apply to pretty much anything. History has very specific people, and very specific events that need to be memorized and explained in order to succeed well. For that very reason, some people prefer history-type classes where they only need to remember certain things, whilst certain people prefer science and math classes where they remember formulas and apply them to anything.

Just to finish this post, I really don't condone cheating in any shape, way or form. Just study well and you won't have a problem succeeding in school. Cheating is a hard way of getting good grades, or an easy way of failing. In short, don't cheat.

Cheating in School: Part 1

Being a high school student, tests are a pain in the butt. They can sometimes appear out of nowhere and honestly, no one likes them. That's why people often cheat on them. Personally, I don't like cheating on tests and exams but, according to a 2005 research study, around 70% of students admitted to cheating. I can honestly say that is probable, as students of my age often like to take the easy way out when it comes to working hard and achieving goals.

Of course, students of all ages have mastered several techniques over the years. Apparently, some of these techniques include writing on their thumbnails, printing fake labels on water bottles and even using glasses with cameras in them to feed to someone outside the test room in order for them to give you the answers through a headset. That last one is a little complicated so I could only see people doing that in the most extreme of situations, like a mid-term or final exam. All these techniques leave the question, if all these students have the time to create these innovative ways of cheating, why can't they pass their tests?

Pretty simple enough. I don't see why this student had to write this down...

Now in all my past attempts of cheating, it has never gone well. Most times I just simply got caught and had to either redo my test or fail it outright. By the way, I only cheated in grade school. With all my past experiences, I learned that it's probably better if I don't cheat in high school. Anyways, most of the time when I cheated I would just hide little notes with answers on them. Obviously, this isn't the most innovative cheating technique ever made but, it had a decent success rate. I would hide them in my books and take them out when I was really unsure of certain answers. I should've just studied.

Cheating Love

Okay okay, I know. I said this blog would be about cheating in sports and video games. But, from now on, I want to make this blog about cheating in any kind of context. Sports, video games, relationships, in school and the most controversial examples of plagiarism. If you guys like this idea or not, let me know in the comments. Anyways, this week I really wanted to talk to you guys about something that's been on my mind. And that is, people who cheat when they're in a relationship. This bothers me for a number of reasons so I'll just get right into it.

Relationships nowadays (especially at my age) are pretty crappy. There's statistics that prove it. 57% of men have admitted to having an emotional or physical affair during any relationship. That means that out of every couple in the us, about 35 million men have cheated on their wives. Just goes to show how faithful men are these days.

https://youtu.be/ekAXPCphKXQ?t=22s

But what about women? How often do they cheat? Well, they aren't so different. 54% of women have admitted to having an emotional or physical affair during any relationship. So in reality, men and women are pretty equal on how often they cheat.

Another question this brings up is, what compels men and women to cheat? I believe that relationships should only happen between people that are tied on a deeper emotional level and that there's trust between the two individuals. Infatuation shouldn't be the cause of a relationship. I guess you could say that I don't believe in love at first sight. Because, the person I could possibly see one day that I find beautiful and attractive could end up being a very repulsive person in terms of their personality or their attitude.

To conclude this very different blog post, relationships are a very important bond between people that shouldn't be taken for granted and abused through cheating and affairs. Those individuals need to learn to love each other and to have trust in each other.

Exploitation in Video Games: Volume 1

Okay, before we start the blog post let me get this out of the way. I really like the video game Counter Strike: Global Offensive or (if you prefer) CS:GO. It's a highly addicting multiplayer game that has a very competitive gaming scene. I know people that play this game day and night just hoping to improve their skills and to get themselves in a better rank. It demands a lot of patience because you need to play a lot in order to improve your skills. Anyways, CS:GO has a lot of tournaments that happen all over the world, with many teams wanting to compete for (usually) money. This money helps fuel some gamers to practice and practice to become the best players in the entire game. With their skills, they go to tournament after tournament winning money. But, probably one of the most infamous games to ever happen was at the Dreamhack Winter tournament in 2014.

It was the Championship Quarter Finals and the two teams to compete were LDLC and Fnatic which are two very good teams in my opinion (Better than me anyways). The game was going along smoothly with LDLC leading 12-3 (you need to win 16 rounds to win the game) going into the second half. At this point, everyone watching the match (including myself) thought the game was decided and that LDLC was for sure gonna win the match. But, of course that was not the case. The second half started and everything was pretty typical. The counter-terrorists (Fnatic) were defending the bomb sites and the terrorists (LDLC) were pushing up to plant the bomb. But then, something great happens. Fnatic start standing on top of each other and they get to a spot which is able to cover a very large portion of the map.

(If you want to see the boost in action)

This was the deciding factor in the match. This boost alone helped Fnatic win the game. Some people were amazed, and some people were furious. I was somewhere in between and I'll explain why. Before the tournament, Fnatic said they had been planning something a couple months in advance of the tournament. But the rules stated that if any exploits were found on the map, whoever discovered them had to declare them so that they can be fixed before any tournaments. Fnatic disobeyed this and kept their secret until the tournament itself. Because of their poor choice, Fnatic got disqualified after the game was over even though they won. To me this was the right choice on Dreamhack's part because they clearly disobeyed the rules and kept an exploit to themselves when they were supposed to let them know. Because of the results of this match, it will go on as one of the most infamous and amazing games ever to happen in the history of CS:GO.
I think the worst part of this entire match was the fact that Olofmeister from Fnatic
(The guy who got all the boost kills) was using this cheap and overpowered gun.

Doping in the Olympics Volume 1: Ben Johnson

Doping in the Olympics is not an uncommon thing. Now you might be wondering: What is doping? Well, doping is when athletes who feel the need to cheat take steroids or other performance enhancing drugs in order to win at their sport. It has happened at every single Olympic game except for only 6 times, out of 25 Olympic games. Every time the Olympics come around, some athletes think they can get away with doping. But not in the case of Ben Johnson.

Ben Johnson was a Jamaican born Canadian former sprinter who won two bronze medals and at the 1984 Olympic games and one gold medal at the 1988 Olympic games. Only three days after his race in the 1988 Olympic games, his blood and urine samples were found to be positive for Anabolic steroids. After the Olympics were over, Ben admitted to using steroids and so the International Association of Athletics Federations took away his world record and the International Olympic Committee took away his gold medal. Luckily, Ben Johnson is the only Canadian athlete to ever get a medal taken away at the Olympics.

Ben Johnson in 1988 at the Seoul Olympic Games.

Ben Johnson was a very fast man. As a matter of fact, when he won the gold medal in the 1988 Summer Olympics he was actually the fastest man in the world for his time of 9.79 seconds. But as soon as the International Olympic Committee found out that he took Anabolic steroids, they immediately took his record away and removed it from the Olympic records so he was no longer the fastest man in the world. Taking drugs in order to enhance one's performance for any kind of sport like Olympic sports, National Sports and regional sports is considered unethical by most sports organizations including the International Olympic Committee, and in almost every case of it, the athlete gets disqualified and anything won gets stripped.

Personally, I believe that it's perfectly fine that they took away his record and medal because it is very unfair to other athletes who are trying to compete. I like to think about what Mr. Noecker told us on the first day of class: "Taking steroids is the easy way out instead of putting the hard work needed to succeed".
